Executive Director, NISAD Schizophrenia Research
In partnership with the University of New South Wales and the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute, NISAD Schizophrenia Research engaged Academic Search International (ASI) to undertake a worldwide search for a Professional Chair of Schizophrenia Research.
While academic searches are clearly ASI's area of expertise and the University of NSW had worked with ASI on a number of occasions, this search was somewhat unusual. Firstly, because it was an Australian first; secondly it was a highly specialised scientific field, and finally it involved three organisations all with somewhat different needs, albeit solidly united to find the right candidate.
From our first meeting with ASI, they were warm and accommodating, across the brief and absolutely focused on achieving the right outcome for all parties. Their capacity to absorb all of our requirements was vast.
The search was comprehensive as you would expect and despite the limitations surrounding the nature of the field they did access a large list of high calibre candidates. Their capacity to communicate freely and without compromise between the three organisations was equally impressive. Their interactions with ASI were always professional, but personable and they were highly attuned to our needs. Material always arrived in time and was always well presented. No search is without hiccoughs; Sandy and Katrina found easy passage for us each time we thought we would experience a difficulty.
I would not hesitate to strongly recommend ASI to any organisation seeking such an appointment. I would be happy to be contacted to discuss in more detail.
