The University of the South Pacific's Faculty of Business and Economics is looking to appoint a Professor of Accounting. One of seven schools in the Faculty of Business and Economics, the School of Accounting and Finance is one of the largest within the University of the South Pacific and offers programs in accounting, banking and finance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The School has over 3500 full-time students from twelve different island nations and fifteen different cultures. The School has over twenty-eight full-time academics who are actively engaged in research.

One of the only two regional universities in the world, the University of the South Pacific (USP) serves the Pacific Islands region in and through its 12 Member Countries. USP is a modern, forward looking, multi-modal institution of learning with a large number of students studying by distance mode, increasing face to face teaching at the regional campuses, and the provision of flexi schools. USP has an exciting future, being in the forefront of information technologies with its satellite communication network and extensive computer networks. USP is increasingly involved in development-oriented consultancy and training throughout the Pacific Island region. Since its establishment the University of the South Pacific has developed an enviable reputation for excellence in education and research.

The successful candidate, for the position of Professor in Accounting, will be able to demonstrate academic leadership and excellence in research. The appointee will be required to exercise leadership in teaching, supervision and research in Accounting with a significant level of autonomy and contribute to the School, Faculty and University priorities in teaching, research and service. The balance between teaching, research and service in this position may vary. The specific workload is negotiated with the Dean of the Faculty. This position will be based at the Suva Campus of the University of the South Pacific.
