The University of Newcastle invites applications for the Director of the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health (CRRMH), located in Orange, New South Wales.
The successful applicant will:
• Provide leadership in the strategic development of the CRRMH and its programs, and the achievement of its objectives;
• Oversee the Centre’s research, education and service development programs, as well as the administrative functions;
• Provide organisational accountability, in collaboration with the Executive Officer for CRRMH budgetary, human resource and organisational planning and development;
• Actively participate in academic leadership roles within the University of Newcastle;
• Oversee the development of national and international collaborations of the CRRMH;
• Advise and assist NSW Health on rural mental health matters relating to research, education, service development and policy;
• Promote integration of and collaboration across research, education and service development components of the CRRMH;
• Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of effective collaborations and partnerships with key rural community organisations and service providers in achieving the Centres objectives;
• Report to the CRRMH Management Committee on the Centre’s progress towards its objectives;
• Participate in the NSW Mental Health Program Council and represent rural mental health research, education and service development issues at a state-wide level;
• Work closely with the CRRMH Community Advisory Committee in the development, review and evaluation of CRRMH goals, objectives and programs, maximising relevance of the Centre’s work to rural communities of NSW and Australia.
