ASI congratulates Professor Paul Brunton, on his recent appointment as the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Division of Health Sciences at the University of Otago. Professor Brunton, currently the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, succeeds Professor Peter Crampton who will continue in his role as Dean of the Otago Medical School in the immediate future until a successor can be appointed whilst teaching and researching in his area of expertise. Appointed from the UK in 2015 as the Dean of Dentistry, Professor Brunton, cemented the status of the Faculty as a centre of excellence for research, education and healthcare. He mentions looking forward to a broader role leading the Division of Health Sciences, which incorporates the Faculty of Dentistry, the Otago Medical School (including the Dunedin School of Medicine, the Christchurch and Wellington campuses), School of Pharmacy, School of Physiotherapy, School of Biomedical Sciences, Bioethics Centre and the divisional office.
